Dear Parent/Carer
At the moment there are a range of different developments taking place throughout the school. One of these is receiving parents’ opinions and ideas about the teaching that takes place within the school. We regard the opinions of parents highly and we would like you to take part in one of the developments of our teaching.
We would like to ask you to observe some of the teaching that is currently taking place and to give your opinions about what you feel is being done well. We would also encourage you to comment on anything that you feel we could improve about our teaching. This observation period will only last for the morning session of a mutually suitable day and we will be able to aid you at any stage.
After you have observed some teaching in the school we would like you to write some of your comments in a brief report. The purpose of this is to inform other parents from the school about the teaching and developments that are taking place. We shall be sending this report out in the Christmas newsletter.
We know that parents would like to have a greater knowledge of what happens in lessons and we feel that you, as a parent, would be a suitable person to inform them of this. If you feel that you would be able to take part in this programme we would greatly appreciate a response to Mrs. Fearnehough, Mr. Brooks or Mr. Gelsthorpe.
Yours sincerely
J Gelsthorpe

Dear Parent/Carer
I am writing to confirm that football training held on Wednesday evening 3.15pm - 4.45pm is to be cancelled for a short period due to weather conditions and lighting.
The last training session will be held on Wednesday 5th December 2007, and will begin again on Wednesday 6th February 2008.
Could you please complete and return the slip below to let us know if your child wishes to continue with the football training sessions in the new year.
Thanks

Dear parent/carer
Costumes for Y3, 4, 5 Christmas performance
Y3 BR
For our Christmas performance, children in Y3 BR are presenting a song, dance and play about Christmas in the 1950s. It would be good if the children (apart from those doing a snow dance) could wear clothes that suggest the 1950s, and I am hoping that you can help with this.
The girls should wear skirts, or dresses with gathered skirts, and blouses and cardigans rather than sweatshirts or t-shirts. They could have bows in their hair. The boys should wear shirts and either trousers or shorts (not with logos). V-neck jumpers would also suggest the 1950s, along with having their hair parted.
If your child is a snow dancer, she should wear white clothes.
If you need any further advice about this, please don’t hesitate to see me.
Thanking you for your help.
Mrs B Rose
(class teacher)
