Our local MP, David Blunkett, visited Marlcliffe on Friday 1st May. He was so impressed with our recent inspection report that he came to tell us personally what a great job we are doing.
He spoke toSam Fearnehough (Headteacher) and Helen Mathers (community governor) and also to a group of Year 6 children. The children told him what they like about Marlcliffe and also had a chance to meet Sadie, Mr Blunkett’s guide dog.
Although this was a very short visit Mr Blunkett has promised to return soon and spend more time going into classrooms and talking to pupils.
Last year, graduates from Corus chose Marlcliffe’s drama studio for their community project. View the progress of the work & see how they turned a run-down cellar into a state-of the-art drama studio.
Gardening Club
Now that it’s dark in the afternoons, gardening club meets at 12.30 on Fridays in the secret garden. There are a few spare places if you are in Y2 Y3 or Y4 and are interested, see Mrs Rose.
Go Green Club
At golden time, Go Green Club will be investigating ways of making the school as sustainable as possible. We are registered on the Generation Green project and are starting to collect ‘leaf’ tokens, which will mean we can get some rewards for the school.
