Chritmas Dinners

16 12 2007

As part of the build up to the Christmas season the school has invited parents to join in with the celebrations in school. The kitchen staff have arragned to cook Christmas dinners for the parents so that they can sit down with their children and other parents from the school. Each year group have taken it in turns to enjoy the food that is cooked on site and sourced from local produce. Each event has been a great success with around forty parents dining from each year group. These are just some of the comments that the parents have made:

Really enjoyed the food and the chance to sit down with my little girl who is very excited at the moment. Thank-you!

Thank you for a lovely meal. It was really nice and I enjoyed it! 10 out of 10.

Food was fab! These are not like the school dinners that I remember. The idea was great, we’ve all loved it. Thanks to you all!

Very tasty – I’m in the mood for Christmas now!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents that have made these events such a huge success and we look forward to even more parents being involved next year. If you have any comments to add about this event then click the tab below.

Parent Lesson Observation

11 12 2007

 Dear Parent/Carer

At the moment there are a range of different developments taking place throughout the school. One of these is receiving parents’ opinions and ideas about the teaching that takes place within the school.  We regard the opinions of parents highly and we would like you to take part in one of the developments of our teaching.

We would like to ask you to observe some of the teaching that is currently taking place and to give your opinions about what you feel is being done well.  We would also encourage you to comment on anything that you feel we could improve about our teaching.  This observation period will only last for the morning session of a mutually suitable day and we will be able to aid you at any stage.

After you have observed some teaching in the school we would like you to write some of your comments in a brief report.  The purpose of this is to inform other parents from the school about the teaching and developments that are taking place.  We shall be sending this report out in the Christmas newsletter.

We know that parents would like to have a greater knowledge of what happens in lessons and we feel that you, as a parent, would be a suitable person to inform them of this.  If you feel that you would be able to take part in this programme we would greatly appreciate a response to Mrs. Fearnehough, Mr. Brooks or Mr. Gelsthorpe.

Yours sincerely

J Gelsthorpe
